Sophie’s Simple and Sweet Newborn Session | Tempe, AZ

Precious little Sophie was born on November 14, 2017, to Rina, Jason, and big brother Mark, who quickly became my best buddy. He was so excited to show me his room and all of his super fun toys, which were so neatly tucked away. Mark will turn 3 in January, so you can imagine how much of a helper his is now that there is a new baby in the house. He was so sweet and gentle with Sophie. Just look at the two of them together!! It took a little coaxing to get him to lie down with her, but one he did…oh, man, you should’ve seen all of us grown-ups nearly in tears from the sweetness!

Rina and Jason waited to find out the sex of both of their children until they were born, and they revealed their names at a very special naming ceremony on the babies’ eight day of their lives. The couple met in college on the east coast.

Jason is from New York and Rina grew up outside Philadelphia. They moved here a few years ago for Jason’s job. He’s a rabbi. How awesome is that?! I know that, to him, it may seem very ordinary. Vocations of faith are so important and often unappreciated, unfortunately.

Jason, I hope you know how important you are, not only to your congregation, but to your family. I love how much Mark looks up to you and adores you.

Rina, thank you for inviting me into your home, even during Thanksgiving week when you had family in town. Your hospitality and kindness did not go unnoticed. (And thank you for sending me home with the most delicious bagels and homemade treats. They did not last long in my house!)

Mazel tov!
