Lindsey and DJ welcomed their third baby, Monroe, on September 8. She joined big brother Beau and big sister Ellie, who are clearly smitten with her!! The Shooter family also recently moved into this new home, with gorgeous views of Camelback Mountain, so what better reason for a fun in-home family session!? (You may recognize this adorable family, pre-Monroe, from this family session we did in September 2016.)
I love doing in-home sessions for so many reasons, especially with itty bitty babies. Parents are just more comfortable in their homes, they don’t have to worry about forgetting anything, and toddlers are really excited to show me all their special toys, which keeps them interested in letting me take more photos! Beau was so excited to give me a tour of his new home. He basically has his own wing of the house! His super cool bedroom is upstairs while everyone else is on the main floor. His room even has a little nook that’s perfect for his train table and toy shelf. I don’t know if he spends hours there, but my son sure would!!
Ellie and Monroe even have their own little play area! There’s a cute alcove in the hallway between their rooms, which fits their play kitchen and beanbag chairs perfectly! I can tell that Lindsey and DJ will have a blast updating that little area as the girls get older. I’m thinking a mani/pedi station may in their future… 😉
If you remember the crazy, cloudy days we had a couple weeks ago–and only one day evening of rain–then you should know that this session took place on one of those days. Luckily, their master bedroom has all these huge, unobstructed windows so I was still able to achieve my signature bright and airy style!
Lindsey and DJ, thank you for inviting into your new home during this crazy, busy season of life. I’m amazed at your patience and kindness toward your sweet kiddos. I can only imagine that life with three littles can be overwhelming at times, but you’re handling it with so much grace (and style, too!). I love how much Beau loves his baby sisters. He’s so sweet and gentle with them; you’re training up a pretty awesome little man!
xoxo,
Brenna
