Jenn and Dylan met in high school, but didn’t start dating until their college years. They celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in November and will be adding a precious BOY to their family this summer!
They love traveling and being outdoors, so when they mentioned that they were up for an adventurous location for their maternity session you’d better believe that my heart jumped for joy! I had been dying to shoot at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum for months, but with it being over an hour drive from the Phoenix area, it’s understandable that not all clients are interested in making the trek out there.
With the arboretum closing two hours before sunset, which is the ideal time to catch the most gorgeous, dreamy, golden light, I had to be a little creative in finding soft light when we started shooting nearly four hours before sunset. This stunning greenhouse was absolute perfection! I could have shot there all afternoon, but of course I wanted to give Jenn & Dylan a large variety of locations for their final gallery.
The three of us wandered around the arboretum, and I learned that Jenn works for DriveTime while Dylan works for the Department of Transportation. I asked him, jokingly, if I could be appointed to the team that gets to name all the streets. I know that job is obviously not ADOT’s responsibility and that each city has a department that plans street names. But whatever, I still think that would be a fun job, don’t you?!
Jenn and Dylan, I cannot tell you how excited I am for your son’s newborn session this summer! I hope you enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy and life as just the two of you. I know that little boy is already so loved. Your hearts are just going to burst when you hold him for the first time! Thank you for coming on this awesome adventure with me, but the adventure on which you’re about to embark will be the greatest one yet. You’re about to become parents!!
xoxo,
Brenna
