Maxwell’s Newborn Session

Maxwell David was born on Monday, November 7, 2016. He joins a lovely brood of boys who have been anxious for his arrival. His birth story, as written by his mama, Keira:

“It was the day after my due date and I had been through four days of on and off again mild, early labor. Since this was my third baby and I had never made it to a due date, I was ready to meet this little boy. My doula told me to wait until my contractions were 5 minutes apart and one minute long for an hour, so I stayed in bed and waited.

I was scheduled to see my midwife at 8:30am but by 8am I really didn’t want to go. My contractions were still about 8-12 minutes apart and took some focus to get through. With hesitation, and insistence from our doula, my husband and I got in the car and headed to see my midwife. We waited for what seemed like forever for her to come see me and after another contraction I told Jon I felt like I was going to throw up. ‘Are you in transition??’ he inquired nervously. ‘No way! I’m probably at about 5 cm,’ I responded.

When my midwife came in to check me her eyes got wide. ‘Well, there’s a head! And you’re dilated to an 8! You need to get to the hospital right now, don’t make any stops on the way!’ she exclaimed.

I couldn’t believe it! I was thanking God we decided to go to that appointment or we would have had our baby in the car. After some laboring in the tub at Mercy Gilbert and about 15 minutes of pushing, Maxwell was here! I couldn’t have planned a better delivery for our sweet boy!”

Congratulations Keira, Jon, Hudson, Everette, and doggy Cooper!
