She’s from New England. He’s from Arizona. They’ve been married for a year and a half. And now they have a precious new baby boy in addition to their “fur babies,” Yankee Doodle and Sir. There is no lack of love in this home–mark my words! Throughout our session, Dillon kept saying, “We made him!” and “I can’t believe he’s finally here!” It was so sweet!

When I entered their home, I had major deja vu. You see, even though their neighborhood was clear across town, their home reminded me so much of the house my husband and I lived in when we got married. We sold that home three years ago, but it’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Emily and Dillon’s home was fully renovated, including a reconfigured kitchen and walls removed, but the floor plan was nearly identical! It made things so easy because I knew where all the rooms were!

Lincoln Hughes Kareiva was born on October 16, 2017. Emily and Dillon arrived at the hospital around 8am, and just four hours later, Lincoln was in their arms! Birth almost never happens that quickly for a first baby! And check out Lincoln’s perfectly coifed head of hair!! It was even better in person, trust me.

I was practically drooling over their well-lit, perfectly neutral master bedroom. All those creams and ivories paired perfectly with the soft color palette that Emily and Dillon donned for their session. Light and bright is definitely my signature style and they totally nailed it!!

Emily and Dillon, thank you so much for letting me serve you during this special time! I pray your journey into parenthood is fulfilling, joyous, adventurous, and fun! I love the way you look at Lincoln with such admiration. He is absolutely precious!! Well done, guys, well done!
