Diana’s Golden Desert Senior Session | Phoenix, AZ

Today is Diana’s 18th birthday!! What a better way to wake up in the morning than to see your Senior Session blog post?!

Diana is about to graduate from Notre Dame Prep in North Scottsdale (I graduated from a Catholic high school, too!), she works at a local restaurant (just like I did in high school!), and she’s from New Jersey! I am not, but my dad grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ. And Miss New Jersey USA was my best friend during the Miss USA 2006 pageant, so I’m definitely part Jersey girl.

She’s still deciding on where to go for college. San Diego State like her big bro? Or stay in Arizona? Diana, let me remind you that when I asked the ideal setting for your portrait session you mentioned a beach. I don’t know of any beaches in AZ, so maybe SDSU is calling your name 😉

Even though a beach locale didn’t happen for her senior sesh, and there weren’t any green fields or wildflowers in the winter desert, I’m so happy that you ended up LOVING the surroundings at the Desert Botanical Garden! It’s absolutely one of my favorite locations to photograph…and I’m sure you’ll see why! The golden sunset light was absolutely flawless and you were glowing, girlfriend!!

Diana’s sweet mama jumped into a few photos, too, which were simply stunning! Mom and Me photos are precious at every age! Ivonne, I can’t wait for you to see those images in Diana’s gallery. Make sure you have the tissues handy!

On our way out of the Garden, we had a long discussion about Groundhog Day (which is also today)…Does the shadow indicate Winter or Spring? (Winter.) Does the holiday fall on the same day every year? (Yes.) Where is this elusive groundhog located? (The largest celebration happens in Central Pennsylvania, but I’ve since learned that multiple groundhog “viewings” are recorded throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada).

Diana, even though you share your birthday with a groundhog, no shadow could ever dull your radiance! (See what I did there?! I’m so punny!) You are such a bright (no pun intended there. Seriously.), joyful, and kind young lady. I wish all the best as you finish your final months of high school and decide which college will be lucky enough to have you on campus. I’m so incredibly honored to have taken your first professional photos! You rocked it, girl!

xoxo,
Brenna
