Emily and Andrew’s Desert Engagement Session | Phoenix, AZ

Andrew proposed to Emily this past New Year’s Eve, aboard a cruise to Mexico, with their families watching. How sweet is that?! He had been planning it for months–originally planning to take Emily on a trip to Rome! I told them that they can go to Rome for their honeymoon instead 😉

They met online about a year and a half ago. He’s from the New York City suburbs, she’s from right here in Arizona. He moved to Tucson for college (I profusely apologized to their future children for his lack of judgement. Sun Devils fo’ life! *wink*). At least Emily had the sense to attend ASU–Andrew, you’re marrying a very smart lady!

I kid, I kid. Kind of.

Anyway, Emily’s younger sister was one of my pageant clients, for whom I’ve also had the privilege of shooting headshots! When Emily contacted me for engagement photos, I was thrilled! Actually, more than thrilled! I don’t get to photograph many engagements because I always suggest that couples shoot with their wedding photographers. Many wedding photographers include a free engagement session, which is so important to establish a great photographer/client relationship and get comfortable with the photographer’s posing style, which helps the wedding day go smoothly and quickly.

Since Emily and Andrew haven’t yet booked a photographer for their May, 2019 wedding, they were anxious to have photos taken so they could design and send their save-the-dates. We met up a the Papago Ampitheater, a location that I hadn’t been to before but had been dying to do a session there. It was absolutely perfect! Super windy, but perfect! I mean, just look at the movement in Emily’s hair…I’m obsessed!

Emily and Andrew, I’m so honored that you would choose me for your first engagement session and I hope you had as much fun as I did! You two are so sweet together and I hope you enjoy this super special time in your life as an engaged couple. Your wedding will be here before you know it! Thank you for being up for this desert adventure with me!

xoxo,
Brenna
