Ashley and Steve are expecting their first baby–a girl!–in August. They’ve already picked her name but I’ll wait to reveal it until their newborn session hits my blog later this summer.

With the high summer temperatures in full effect, I’ve been brainstorming options for cooler locations around the Phoenix Valley for my summer mamas. When I received Ashley’s questionnaire response to her ideal location, she listed multiple options so I knew this gorgeous spot off the Salt River would be perfect! I mean, who doesn’t want desert, mountains, greenery, and water all in one?!

It was a huge bonus when we walked closer to the river and, I swear, it was a good 15 degrees cooler. Which I’m sure felt like heaven to Ashley! She was even able to wade in the water toward the end of the shoot. Winning!!

Ashley and Steve, you two are so amazing! I pray that you enjoy these last couple months before you become parents. Enjoy lots of date nights and sleeping in. I cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl in August!
