Featured Nursery of the Month: Beau

Beau’s nursery gives me all the fall feels which is why it’s October’s featured nursery. His parents, Meg and Mac, went with subtle woodland hints and a green shiplap wall that’s swoon worthy. Every little detail was thought out to a t and doesn’t go unnoticed.

What is your nursery’s theme?

“I wanted a calm environment but didn’t want it to be ‘girly’ so we did a subtle camping/woods theme! The inspiration was spun from the artwork I found on Etsy as well as the green vertical “shiplap” wall. From there it was just fun to incorporate neutrals with family pieces to create a calm environment.”

On which items did you splurge vs. save?

“We splurged on the crib and mattress. It was vital for us to provide the safest sleeping situation possible!!

“We saved on the rocker by purchasing off Facebook marketplace. The bookshelves by painting and staining IKEA shelving, and by using family prices such as the wood rocker (Meg’s fathers from when he was a little boy) and the wood link (hand whittled by Mac’s Grandfather in 1933!!).”

Did you experience any challenges with your nursery design?

“Finding pieces for decor to capture my vision! Many pieces for this type of theme were either cartoon animals or too realistic like hunting. Thankfully with some creativity, the perfect nursery for Beau was achieved.”

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your nursery?

“All the books in his nursery have loving thoughts and prayers written in the cover by friends and family!”

Thank you, Meg and Mac, for sharing Beau’s nursery with us! Getting to photograph your family was a joy. The space you two created is simply breathtaking.

xoxo,
Brenna
