White space, pops of color, and dainty touches make Blakely’s nursery the perfect nursery feature for this month. It was a family affair when it came to decorating sweet Blakely’s nursery. Big brother, Wyatt, assisted their parents in preparing for her arrival and I’m pretty sure they were instant best friends.
I actually photographed Wyatt when he was a newborn. Getting to watch families grow is one of the best parts of my “job.” Allie and Spencer and their precious littles remind me daily of why I love what I do. Thank you for letting me capture these priceless memories!
What is your nursery’s theme?
Light and bright with pops of color!
What was the inspiration for your nursery design?
My grandmother, Vada, was an incredible and talented artist. I was given one of her floral paintings this summer and utilized her painting as the inspiration for Blakely’s nursery.
Did you utilize help from any professional designer?
No.
On which items did you splurge vs. save?
I tried to splurge on items I thought could grow with Blakely such as her pillows and I recovered the children’s chair.
Did you experience any challenges with your nursery design?
My only challenge was choosing items for Blakely’s nursery online, as I prefer to do shopping in person. Luckily, most of the items I ordered I was able to use in her nursery!
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your nursery?
My son (Wyatt), husband (Spencer), and I had so much fun designing and creating Blakely’s nursery. My husband is a handyman and was able to do all of the wainscoting himself. Next to the crib is a sketch of one of our floral centerpieces used at our wedding. It was completed by Jessie Jo Warner with Freed Hands.
