Why You Need an Email List

You’d be living under a rock if you haven’t been targeted to sign-up for an email list. Do you wonder what the BIG deal is about growing your email list and why people are pushing email lists? Do you wonder if you truly need one?

Well, the answer to the latter is YES–you most definitely need an email list and the reasons below will help you realize why email lists are a big deal for small (and big) businesses.

Cultivate relationships!

Email is a personal way to offer one-on-one attention and allow your audience to get in touch with you directly via your inbox. They can quickly tap that reply button and have a personal conversation with you.

Be Seen!

We check our email multiple times a day and even though your audience may also be on social, your social media isn’t seen by as many people as you think. Only about 5% of your social media followers actually see your content.

You own your list!

Social media could disappear before your eyes without warning. You don’t own your social media followers but you do own your email list. Keep a backup of your list if you use a third-party (which you probably will!) to store your database of email contacts.

Your audience wants to hear from you!

There’s a reason your audience signed up for your list in the first place…they said “yes” to receiving your emails because they want to know what you have to say because you do offer value to their problem.

You offer value!

Let’s be real…no one really signs up for a monthly or weekly newsletter. They said yes to your email list because you offer something of value (aka FREEBIE!) and they want to know what you have to say. The key is to continue to provide free and valuable content on a consistent basis.

You don’t even need a website!

You can grow your email list without a website. It’s true! Most email service providers include hosted landing pages so your audience can sign up for your list with just a simple link from you.
