Pinterest 101 for Photographers

Business, Photography, Tips & Tricks

I am not a Pinterest expert, but I’ve learned a LOT over the last year about how to use Pinterest to benefit my business which is why I’m giving you a Masterclass on Pinterest 101 for Photographers. I worked with a Pinterest strategist for about a year to help optimize my account, create my boards, design and schedule my pins. Pinterest strategists can cost $500-$1000/month. If that’s not within your budget, here are some practical tips and knowledge on Pinterest for you to get started!

What is Pinterest?

Despite many thinking Pinterest is just another social media platform, it’s actually a visual discovery search engine. Being a visual platform, you’re able to link your uploads to another social media platform, your website, blog, or any link.

Pinterest is so important for photographers to utilize because it’s FREE marketing! You’re able to share your work, inspire others, save inspiration, and get seen by potential clients. This ultimately drives traffic to your website thus boosting your SEO. Pinterest is especially ideal for linking your blog posts!

Pinterest Tips

  • Use the same profile photo on your social media & pinterest profiles
  • Use detailed titles & descriptions
  • Have plenty of boards with specific themes
  • Make sure you are repinning content from others and uploading NEW created content
  • Canva and Tailwind are so helpful when creating and scheduling new pins
