I think by taking one quick look at baby Wesley’s neutral-toned desert nursery it’s easy to say “OBSESSED”! When taking Wesley’s newborn photos, I knew that I had to get all the details and feature his amazing nursery. His mom was so kind to share everything with me!
There was not an overall theme of Wesley’s nursery, but more of a color pallet that she was wanting to follow. Wesley’s mom loves Arizona sunsets (don’t we all?!) and desert tones, so she based her vision for the nursery off of this picture. As she started shopping she began finding items that had the colors she wanted, and it all came together. Wesley’s mom did all of the design work herself, with some help from her own mom, too!
She did not have a specific budget in mind, but was mindful of purchases. She tried to have a purpose for everything she bought for the nursery, and splurged on things that she could justify – like a rocking chair for those newborn sleepless nights! She was able to save on the black iron crib, and it actually converts into a toddler bed and also a full bed as he grows – amazing!
With decorating anything, there will always be a struggle. For this time, she struggled a lot with curtains and rugs. She even told me that she ordered three different rugs before deciding on the perfect one.
Everything came together so beautifully and it photographed exceptionally well for Wesley’s newborn photos. I am so excited to feature his nursery this month and share the final images from his session.
