Tara Jackson, owner and lead photography of Tara Jackson Photography, is this month’s BHP Star Student! Tara started her photography business in 2019. She serves families, newborns, and even weddings! Photography is so special to Tara, and she loves the natural progression of shooting a couple’s wedding, then later down the road having the privilege to capture their newborn and family photos. Tara brings so much to our BHP Community, and I’m so excited to share more about her and her thriving business with you!
About Tara
Tara grew up in the Mississippi Delta. She attended Mississippi State University where she met and married her college sweetheart in 2004. They recently celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary (cheers sweet friend!). Tara and her husband have one daughter who she homeschools – one of the many perks of being your own business owner! She recently became interested in classical education and is enjoying the freedom and love of learning that brings. Having a flexible schedule allows for their family to travel several times each year. They bought at camper in 2020 and love exploring more of Mississippi and surrounding states.

Tara is such a valued part of the BHP Community, and we are so thankful to have her as a student in both the Membership for Motherhood Photographers and The Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course. The Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course has allowed Tara to improve her skills in posing and indoor lighting to offer her clients the highest quality work. Tara recently told me that The Membership for Motherhood Photographers is so invaluable! There is so much technical education available that has allowed her to take her business to the next level. But the business content offered is absolutely amazing for Tara’s photography business. MMP helps Tara’s business so much with things going on behind the scenes. One of her favorites lately was the masterclass on website copy. Tara said it was exactly what she needed!
