This month’s BHP Star Student is our very own Amy Najmon! Amy is a motherhood and family photographer based in Aiken, South Carolina and began her photography journey as a new mom. Amy longed for a creative outlet during the pandemic and had always felt drawn to photography. She began taking online courses and honing in on her skills while taking photos of her children. It didn’t take long for others to notice Amy’s talent and to start asking for photos as well! One thing led to the next, and before she knew it, Amy was insured, licensed and a photographer!
About Amy
Amy began her photography business by shooting a bit of everything to figure out exactly where she wanted to focus. About a year and a half into her business, she realized maternity, newborn, and family sessions were filling her schedule up. She loved focusing on the bonds of motherhood and young families. These were the sessions that she felt most creative in and spoke to her heart the most. Like most motherhood photographers, Amy felt honored to watch families grow and be a part of creating their special memories.
Amy is from the Midwest originally and met her husband in college. They moved to South Carolina knowing it was a part of the country they would love to raise a family in. Aiken, South Carolina soon bgan their home and it is the perfect place for their family. They love the charm, the festivals, the horse culture, and the quick commute to nearby cities. When Amy is not photographing families, they love to explore new places in the state and find fun activities to do as a family. Another big passion for Amy is music!
The Brenna Heater Education Community
Amy is a valued student in our Membership for Motherhood Photographers and in the Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course. Here is what Amy says about her experience:
“Being a part of Brenna’s courses & membership has most definitely improved my skill and client experience. I often look back over her resources and videos before a session as a quick reminder and have integrated many of her teachings into my workflow. Her transparency to her students and real-time demonstration of how she does tasks helps tremendously as I update areas of my business to better my client experience.
I’ve received helpful feedback from the BHP Community Facebook page when I’ve had questions, as well as general support and encouragement when I’m excited to share business growth. I also am so thankful to Brenna that she takes time to do monthly calls with Membership students to answer questions about that month’s (or prior, or really anything) teachings, and for being active on the social media pages as well so we feel she’s in our corner and following us and our work.”
This is truly why I do what I do! However, we would not be the community that we are without students just like Amy. It’s such an honor to grow in our photography journey together and have support from other Motherhood photographers around the country.
