This month’s BHP Star Student is Katie Redmon, lead photographer of Katie Redmon Photography! She is based out of Flowery Branch, GA and serves the greater Atlanta area! Katie photographs mostly families, but has expanded her photography services from pregnancy to baby’s first birthday.
About Katie – BHP Star Student
Katie is a girl mom and married to her high school sweetheart. Some of their favorite things are the everyday activities they can do together as a family, like going to the aquarium and the park and reading all the children’s books. Before becoming a full-time photographer, Katie was a teacher!
Katie was a burnt out teacher with one baby at home and one on the way. She loved working with kids, but also wanted to be with her own little ones too while they were still young. She had a desire to be able to take photos of them that, so she started taking online photography courses, including my very own Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course. Less than three months after Katie’s second little girl was born, she quit her teaching job and has been pursuing family and newborn photography full time (with most work happening after bedtime, of course, because the mama hustle is real)!
Katie serves families with children usually ranging in age from birth to 7 years old. After taking the Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course, Katie created her very own Motherhood Membership for her clients. It’s the perfect option for mamas to capture every milestone from finding out they are expecting to their baby’s first birthday. These are starting to become some of Katie’s absolute favorite sessions to shoot because she adores watching these little ones grow and helping their families preserve these short moments in time. It brings her such joy to help families create moments they will treasure forever while she also spends her days with her two kids. It is the exact thing that she has been dreaming of since she was a burnt out elementary school teacher. I love that Katie is living her dream life!

Katie is a valued student in the Membership for Motherhood Photographers and the Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course. She says she wouldn’t be a newborn photographer without these resources! She refers back to her galleries and the Membership before every newborn session. They have given her so much confidence in understanding how to wrap a baby, pose parents, how to frame shots, work with toddlers, and more. All of Katie’s newborn and maternity shoots emulate what she has learned from these courses.
In addition, Katie also loves the new content that gets released monthly in the Membership. The Facebook community is also a wonderful bonus that allows Katie to ask questions to and collaborate with other motherhood photographers. She loves that we learn so many great tools for the backend of our business from the Membership, in addition to the components that help us be better motherhood photographers.
