A Personal Update and Important Announcement - Brenna Heater

A Personal Update and Important Announcement

When I began Brenna Heater Photography in 2013, I had no idea where life, or business, would take me over the next several years! I have been so incredibly blessed to work with such amazing clients who have become even better friends.

As time goes on, and my kids get older, I’m constantly reminded of why I began my business in the first place. I wanted to serve families, have a creative outlet, and give generously to others in need. My goal was never to be a full-time business or primary financial provider for my family.

My son turned five last November so he’ll start kindergarten this year. He has never attended day care or preschool and I have always been the primary care provider for both kiddos. Our family has prayed about his schooling for a long time, and we know that God is calling us to homeschool him for the time being. While we are so excited to start this journey together, I also knew I had to start scaling back my photography services in order to have the time to dedicate to Aaron’s education.

I have made the decision to exclusively offer maternity and newborn portraits. I am no longer booking family, senior, anniversary, or maternity sessions. I updated my website several months ago, and was not planning on announcing this decision publicly, but I have continued to receive family session inquiries and have several amazing returning clients whom I feel deserve to know the whole story behind this choice.

As a small, boutique photo studio, I don’t have a desire to manage associate photographers or have sessions booked six days per week. My greatest desire is to serve a small number of families each month and give each of them a truly special experience from beginning to end. I want them to feel valued, appreciated, and loved.

I will continue to offer limited family mini sessions in the spring and fall! However, these mini session are only offered to returning clients. I will no longer be taking new clients for mini sessions. This is the best decision for my business going forward.

I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for the growth of this business since 2013. What started as a small hobby has now grown beyond my wildest dreams into a legitimate company (I have business insurance and pay monthly sales taxes…whoa!).

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued love and support!

P.S. Much thanks to my friend Kimmie of FotoMeStudios for my lovely new photo!
