Blair’s Blush and Floral Nursery

Baby Blair’s Blush & Floral Nursery is sure to give you baby girl fever!

Blair’s mom, Shea, might as well be a professional designer at this point. She put together the most beautiful nursery for their baby girl.  Her inspiration for the nursery was delicate florals with shades of light pink.  She came across the print called “Delaney” from Caden Lane, and used it as the color palette to bring everything else together.

The Design Process

It’s easy to lose track of the expenses when putting together a nursery. However, Shea tried to keep a budget of under $1,000, including hiring a handyman to hang and install most items.  There are always areas to save, and for this nursery it was in the furniture.  Blair’s big brother, Mac, had neutral pieces of furniture in white and gray, so they were able to be repurposed for her nursery. The crib, dresser, nightstand, rocker, and even some wall shelves and frames were repurposed for Blair’s nursery.  This left room in the budget to purchase the perfect machine-washable area rug. It was a splurge, but so nice with two littles.

The layout of the nursery presented some design challenges.  There are three windows in the nursery, which is dreamy for natural light, but not when the baby is trying to nap. Therefore, good curtains had to be incorporated into the design.

Shea said it was so much fun putting together Blair’s dreamy nursery (and I think we can all see why!).  She found it helpful to put together a vision board to be sure her selections were coming together. A helpful tip for mamas is that this can easily be put together in Canva* (and you can even remove backgrounds of images with a simple click with a Pro account)!

The Nursery Reveal

The final results of Blair’s nursery were dainty, classic, and absolutely gorgeous.  Also, they made for the perfect backdrop for her newborn photos!  Shea, you are so talented. I LOVED getting to document all the time you spent creating this perfect room for Blair. I’ll be calling you the next time I need help designing a stunning space!
