This month our BHP Star Student is the ever so talented Carolina Bowers Photography! Carolina serves the the Phenix City, AL, Fort Benning, GA, and Columbus, GA area as a newborn, motherhood, and family photographer. Newborn sessions have her heart, though! Outside of photography, Carolina is a mom to two little boys, Vincent and Elliott. She is a proud military spouse to her husband Shane. Beside photography, her other passions are running and working out.
About Carolina Bowers Photography
Carolina always been interested in photography. She grew up carrying a disposable camera around or always snapping pictures on her phone – a true, natural photographer! When Carolina got married, her husband gifted her a professional camera. It wasn’t until she had her son Vincent until she really dove into learning everything she could about her camera and how to properly work it. The most beautiful part of Carolina’s journey to photography was taking precious photos of her son which got her through days of postpartum depression. Carolina continued to take photos for friends and family. In 2021, Carolina created a setup for Christmas photos for her boys, and offered them to her community for free. The feedback she received was amazing, which led her to starting her own business. She says her husband really pushed her and gave me the confidence to open her own photography business.
The BHP Community
The BHP Community wouldn’t be the same without Carolina! She is part of the Membership for Motherhood Photographers and a student in the Lifestyle + Posed Newborn Course. For Carolina, these resources have drastically help improve her posing workflow. Being a very visual learner, Carolina loves the behind-the-scenes videos each month. No more searching Pinterest right before a session to memorize poses! One of the biggest compliments that Carolina now receives when clients recommend her is that she is “knowledgable and natural” – (I have to agree with them!)
Carolina loves being able to follow along with other photographers who are just starting their motherhood photography journey as well or have been doing it for years and are looking to refresh their style. She says that it’s a great place where she feels safe to post her photography work and get helpful feedback without worrying about hurtful comments. This makes my heart SO happy to hear, because that’s exactly what we strive for our BHP Community to be!
