My client, Sarah, asked in advance of her newborn session if her parents and twin sister, Grace, could join in for the first 10ish minutes of their session. I always love capturing grandparents with the new grandbaby! Sarah and Joel were so proud–rightfully so!–of their kitchen remodel so we decided to do the family photos there. I shot a few combinations with her parents and sister. Then they left and we continued with Levi’s lifestyle + posed session as normal. You don’t always get the opportunity for a multigenerational newborn session, so whenever it’s possible, I always encourage my clients to take advantage!
Note for photographers: I did not charge an extra fee for the additional people, but that’s definitely something you could do if you think it’s appropriate. If you include a limited number of digital images in your sessions, then including grandparents is a great way to sell additional images when you deliver the gallery! See this blog post for tips on how to set this up.
This month, members of Membership for Motherhood Photographers are getting exclusive access to go behind-the-scenes of Levi’s Multigenerational Newborn Session. My membership program offers ongoing education and coaching for motherhood photographers who want to uplevel their businesses. Each month members receive a new behind-the-scenes video of an entire session, a business masterclass on a topic for motherhood photographers, and a monthly group coaching call! But the best part?
