My client, Sarah, asked in advance of her newborn session if her parents and twin sister, Grace, could join in for the first 10ish minutes of their session. I always love capturing grandparents with the new grandbaby! Sarah and Joel were so proud–rightfully so!–of their kitchen remodel so we decided to do the family photos there. I shot a few combinations with her parents and sister. Then they left and we continued with Levi’s lifestyle + posed session as normal. You don’t always get the opportunity for a multigenerational newborn session, so whenever it’s possible, I always encourage my clients to take advantage!
Note for photographers: I did not charge an extra fee for the additional people, but that’s definitely something you could do if you think it’s appropriate. If you include a limited number of digital images in your sessions, then including grandparents is a great way to sell additional images when you deliver the gallery! See this blog post for tips on how to set this up.
